Google Drive backup & restore
Back up your whole workspace to your own Google Drive, nightly or on demand, download a backup, and restore the entire workspace from one — with the warnings you need before you do.
Settings → Google Drive Backup — Back up all your shop's data to Google Drive — invoices, stock, customers and ledgers. Owner or Admin.
What gets backed up#
The whole workspace, including:
- 🧵 Products, variants & stock
- 🧾 Invoices & billing
- 👥 Customers & udhaar ledger
- 🏭 Suppliers & purchases
- 📦 Stock movements
- 💰 Expenses & finance
Each backup is a complete copy of your workspace's data at that moment.
Where backups go#

In your Drive, backups appear as one dated file per backup inside 📁 KapdaStock-Backups.
Connect Google Drive#
- Click 🔗 Connect Google Drive and sign in with the Google account you want to use.
- Allow access. You return to Settings with Google Drive connected — your backups now export to your Drive ☁️.
Kapda Stock can only see the files it creates in your Drive. To stop, click Disconnect and confirm Disconnect your Google Drive? Future backups will no longer export there.
When backups run#
- Nightly — The nightly job runs at 2:00 AM IST.
- Automatic Daily Backup switch — Runs automatically each day when you open the app (once a day, from that browser).
- ⬇ Back up now — any time.
Download a backup#
Each backup in the list shows its date, whether it is on Google Drive or local storage, and its status (COMPLETED or failed). ⬇ Download saves a copy. A backup made to a Drive account that is no longer connected shows Reconnect (account) to download this backup.
Restore#
Pick a backup below to recover your workspace. All existing data is replaced before restore.
- Click Restore on the backup.
- Confirm Restore your entire workspace from the (date) backup (Google Drive / local storage)? ALL current data will be REPLACED with the backup contents. This cannot be undone.
- Confirm again: Final confirmation — replace all current data with this backup? → Replace all data.
Empty state: No backups yet — the 2:00 AM IST cron backs up daily, or back up now.
