Dates, timezone & currency
Why every date in Kapda Stock is Indian Standard Time in DD/MM/YYYY, how "today" and "this month" are calculated, and how amounts are rounded and formatted.
One timezone: IST#
Kapda Stock records every timestamp in universal time and displays and calculates everything in Indian Standard Time (IST, UTC+5:30). A device set to another timezone — a laptop bought abroad, a phone on roaming — still shows IST.
This matters most at day and month boundaries:

A sale rung up at 11:50 PM IST belongs to that day even though it is already the next day in universal time.
Scheduled jobs run on IST#
Automatic jobs are scheduled in IST, so "every morning at 9" means 9:00 AM in India:

Currency and rounding#
- The currency is the Indian Rupee (₹) with Indian digit grouping: ₹1,23,45,678.
- Dashboard tiles and summary figures show whole rupees.
- Invoice lines, taxes and ledgers are calculated to paise (two decimals).
- Selling prices are treated as GST-inclusive — the price on the tag is what the customer pays; the app splits it into taxable value and GST. See GST basics.
- Invoices show the total in words (for example "Rupees One Thousand Two Hundred Fifty Only").
Phone numbers#
Indian mobile numbers are stored as +91 followed by ten digits starting with 6–9. You can type the ten digits; the app adds +91.
