Barcodes & labels

Every variant has a barcode#

When a product is added — from the form or by bulk import — each variant is given a unique 12-digit numeric barcode automatically. You do not need to buy or register barcodes. The barcode is shown in the Variants column of the Inventory list and is what POS looks up when you scan.

POS also matches the product SKU, so a label or tag carrying your own SKU works too.

Print labels#

You choose exactly which products get labels — nothing prints until you say so.

1. Open Inventory and click 🏷 Print barcode labels. A tick box appears beside every product and a bar shows how many are selected.
2. Choose the products:
   • One product — tick it.
   • Several products — tick each one, in any combination. Untick to remove one.
   • Everything on the page — click Select all (or the tick box in the table header). Search or Low stock only first to narrow the page.
   • Every product in the shop — click All products in shop. This includes products beyond the current page.
3. Click Generate labels. A PDF, barcode-labels.pdf, downloads with one label for each variant of the chosen products (a product with three colours gets three labels).
4. Print it on label stock or plain paper and cut.

Clear unticks everything; Cancel leaves selection mode. One PDF holds up to 500 labels — if a selection is larger you are told the count and can choose fewer products.

Printing labels needs the Manager role or above.

What each label shows#

• Your shop name
• Product name, brand and the variant (for example Red / XL)
• SKU
• HSN code and GST %
• Price — the GST-inclusive selling price, with the unit for non-piece products (for example ₹140.00 / MTR)
• A QR code that encodes the barcode, with the barcode number printed beneath it

Scanning at POS#

When a code matches you see Scanned: product added to cart; when it does not, No product matches barcode …. Out-of-stock products are not added.
