Offers & promotions
Create coupon codes for festivals and regulars — percentage or flat discounts with minimum bill, maximum discount, usage limits and validity dates — and apply them at POS.
Offers (/app/promotions) is where you create discount coupons your cashiers apply at the counter — an EID25 code for the festival week, a flat ₹200 off for loyal customers, and so on.
Creating, editing and deleting offers needs the Manager role or above.
Create an offer#
- Open Offers and click + New offer.
- Fill in the form (fields below).
- Leave Active ticked to make it usable immediately, and save.
| Field | Rules |
|---|---|
| Offer name | Required, up to 100 characters — for example Eid Sale. Shown to the cashier when the coupon is applied. |
| Coupon code (optional) | Up to 40 characters, stored in capitals (typing eid25 saves EID25). Must be unique among your offers. |
| Type | Percentage or Flat ₹. |
| Value | Greater than 0. A percentage cannot exceed 100. |
| Max discount ₹ (cap) | Percentage offers only — the most the discount can be, however large the bill. |
| Min bill ₹ (optional) | The bill must be at least this much for the coupon to apply. |
| Usage limit (optional) | Total number of bills the coupon can be used on, across the whole business. |
| Starts / Ends (optional) | Dates between which the coupon is valid. The start must be before the end. |
| Active | Untick to switch the offer off without deleting it. |
How the discount is calculated#
The discount is worked out on the bill's GST-inclusive total:
- Percentage: total × value ÷ 100, capped at Max discount ₹ if set. 10% off, max ₹500 on a ₹8,000 bill gives ₹500, not ₹800.
- Flat ₹: the value, but never more than the bill.
GST on the bill is recalculated on the discounted amount. See GST basics.
Apply a coupon at POS#
- Build the cart in POS.
- Type the code in Coupon and press Apply (or Enter). You see Eid Sale applied and the discount appears in the totals.
- Click Remove to take it off.
- Complete the sale. The coupon's Used count goes up by one.
The coupon is checked again when the sale is completed, so it cannot be used past its limit even if two counters apply it at the same time. If you park a bill, the code is kept but must be re-applied after resuming.
