Job work (Karigar)

Send fabric out to karigars for stitching, dyeing, embroidery or weaving, receive finished goods back into stock, and track and pay the wages they are owed.

Job Work (/app/karigar) follows material out to your artisans and finished goods back in — Material out → stitching / dyeing / embroidery → finished goods in, wages tracked.

Job Work needs the Manager role or above.

Karigars#

Click + Add karigar and enter:

The Karigars table shows Name, Phone, Skill and Wages owed, with View and — when something is owed — ⋯ → 💵 Pay wages.

Issue a job#

  1. Click + Issue job.
  2. Choose the Karigar and the Work type (STITCHING, DYEING, EMBROIDERY, WEAVING or OTHER).
  3. Material description — what you are handing over, for example 10 MTR pashmina fabric (2–300 characters).
  4. Material qty — how much (at least 0.1).
  5. Agree the charges: Agreed wages ₹, Weaving charge ₹, Washing charge ₹. The form shows Total payable to karigar.
  6. Optional Due date.
  7. Optional stock links:
    • Deduct material from stock — pick the fabric variant to take the material out of stock now.
    • Stock finished goods into — pick the product variant the finished pieces will be added to.
  8. Click Issue job.

The job gets a number such as JW-00007 and the status Issued.

The job works list#

Filter by Issued, Completed or Cancelled.

Receive finished goods#

  1. Choose ✓ Receive finished goods on an Issued job — Receive JW-… · material — issued to karigar.
  2. Enter Finished pieces / quantity received.
  3. Confirm or adjust Final wages ₹, Weaving charge ₹ and Washing charge ₹. The dialog shows Total owed to karigar — Goes on the karigar's ledger as owed.
  4. Click Receive goods. You see JW-… received — wages added to the karigar's ledger.

The job becomes Completed. If a finished-goods variant was linked, the received quantity is added to its stock (movement JOB_WORK_IN).

Cancel a job#

✕ Cancel job on an Issued job marks it Cancelled: JW-… cancelled — material returned to stock. Material deducted when the job was issued goes back into stock (movement JOB_WORK_CANCEL). No wages are added. Completed jobs cannot be cancelled.

Wages#

Wages are owed only when a job is received, as one credit for wages + weaving + washing.

Pay wages#

  1. On the karigar, choose ⋯ → 💵 Pay wages.
  2. Enter the amount at Pay name (owed ₹X): and confirm. You see Paid ₹amount to name.

A payment cannot be more than is owed: Only ₹X is owed to name.

The karigar's ledger#

View on a karigar opens their page: skill, phone and ₹X wages owed (or Nothing owed), a 🧾 Job works table (Job, Work, Status, Charges, Issued) and Wages Cr / Dr history — newest first — each entry marked Wages for job work or Payment, with the Balance after.

Error messages#
